The 'National Ekta Dal' has announced a street struggle against the 100-rupee customs rule implemented by the Balen government and the "bulldozer terror" carried out in landless settlements. At a time when major opposition parties remain silent, the party led by Chairman Binaya Yadav has scheduled a strong protest in Kathmandu tomorrow (Baisakh 21, 2083).
Breaking the Opposition's Silence
While large political parties have maintained a mysterious silence against government actions that displace the poor and marginalized and make kitchens more expensive, National Ekta Dal has taken to the streets aggressively. Chairman Binaya Yadav stated that major parties have forgotten the issues of the poor and warned of a powerful resistance from the streets against the government's arbitrary tendencies.
Two Main Agendas of the Movement
-
Discriminatory 100-Rupee Customs: Abolition of the government's "baseless" and double standard rule that provides millions in exemptions to air travelers while harassing the poor buying salt and oil at Madhesh borders with a 100-rupee ceiling.
-
Bulldozer Terror on Landless Settlements: Strong opposition to the inhumane step of making the poor homeless by using force in Kathmandu’s landless settlements without proper alternatives or prior preparation.
Outline of Tomorrow's Protest
According to the program released by National Ekta Dal, preparations are complete for all leaders, activists, and victimized citizens to take to the streets:
-
Date: Tomorrow, 21 Baisakh 2083
-
Time: 2:00 PM
-
Location: From Tinkune to Maitighar Mandala Gathering in thousands at Tinkune, the protest rally will start with slogans and culminate in a massive assembly at Maitighar Mandala.

The Ekta Dal has also called upon all Madhesi citizens, landless settlers, and oppressed marginalized groups to come to the streets and show solidarity in this decisive struggle.
