An alleged attempt to attack a candidate in Bara Constituency–4 has sparked controversy during the ongoing election period, with the Rastriya Ekata Dal calling for an impartial investigation into the incident.
In a press statement, party spokesperson Dilip Pandit said the matter had drawn serious attention following an incident in Ward No. 19, Inarwa Bazaar, Jitpur–Simara Sub-Metropolitan City. The party stated that its candidate and chairperson, Vinay Yadav, faced obstruction while heading to participate in the inauguration of an election contact office.
According to the party, a group of individuals blocked the road and created a dispute during the event. It claimed that the incident was a planned attempt to spread fear because of the party’s political stance regarding a “Hindu state.”
The statement noted that local residents gathered at the scene and prevented any untoward incident from escalating. The party expressed gratitude to them and reiterated that violence and intimidation have no place in a democratic process.
Describing the episode as an attack on a free and fair electoral environment, the Rastriya Ekata Dal has placed four demands before the concerned authorities: a fair investigation, action against those involved, security assurance for the candidate, and a state guarantee of conducting elections in a fear-free atmosphere.
The party maintained that such incidents would not deter its political campaign and said it would continue to present its views peacefully and through constitutional means. As polling approaches, political activities in Bara have intensified, with local residents raising concerns over security arrangements.
