Rabi Lamichhane Commemorates Gen Z Movement Urging Rule of Law

Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has marked the one-year anniversary of the spontaneous youth-led movement against corruption and political quota distribution by appealing for continuous constructive vigilance and rule of law. In an official statement, Lamichhane reflected on the spirit of the Gen Z movement that erupted against institutional incompetence, restrictions on fundamental rights, and a lack of economic opportunities.

Expressing profound sorrow over the loss of lives, the party chairman paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs who died while demanding civil rights and a corruption-free society. He also offered condolences to the police personnel who died in the line of duty during the events of Bhadra 23 and 24, stressing that such painful incidents should never recur in the nation.

Lamichhane called upon the state to fulfill its obligations toward the proper care, complete medical treatment, and long-term rehabilitation of individuals who suffered physical, mental, or disabling injuries during the demonstrations. He characterized the peaceful street protests by the digitally conscious generation as a decisive rejection of traditional political practices.

Warning political parties and leaders against misusing the spontaneous citizen movement for narrow political advantages, Lamichhane stated that those in leadership must remain accountable to the questions raised by the youth. He urged the public to channel citizen anger into national construction rather than rendering despair a dominant narrative, reaffirming his party's commitment to equitable prosperity and national dignity.
