Sunsari-4 Member of Parliament Deepak Kumar Sah was appointed as the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies on Thursday, 25 Bhadra, assuming his ministerial duties immediately in Kathmandu. Sah, an engineer by profession, succeeded former minister Gauri Kumari Yadav following her resignation to address ongoing supply management challenges in the country.

After contributing significantly to grass-roots political organization and later founding the Sarvodaya Party, Sah merged his party with the Rastriya Swatantra Party. In the 2079 general elections, he achieved an overwhelming electoral victory in Sunsari-4, securing 42,771 votes against rival candidate Gyanendra Bahadur Karki's 16,587 votes to earn a resounding mandate.
