A dedicated pressure group from Kaski has intensified its advocacy for the GenZ Movement by formally submitting a memorandum to movement representative Rakshya Bam. The group is demanding the unconditional release of activists currently in custody and the immediate dismissal of all legal cases filed during the protests.
The delegation emphasized that the fresh political mandate following the 2082 General Elections must reflect a commitment to good governance and judicial fairness. They argued that maintaining legal pressure on young protesters contradicts the spirit of the recent democratic transition and hinders national healing.
According to the press release issued by Communications Coordinator Rajan Shrestha, the group specifically requested that these grievances be prioritized within the "Constitutional Amendment Discussion Paper Drafting Task Force, 2082." This task force, led by the Prime Minister’s Chief Political Advisor Asim Shah, is seen as a vital platform for addressing the movement's systemic concerns.
The memorandum outlines three primary demands: the withdrawal of politically motivated charges, the release of those held in pretrial detention, and a guarantee against future state retribution. The group maintains that these issues are not merely localized grievances but are fundamentally tied to civil liberties and youth participation in democracy.
The pressure group warned that the continued incarceration of participants sends a negative signal to the public. They have called upon the government to take a sensitive and proactive approach to ensure that the voices of the youth are integrated into the nation's new political roadmap.
