Nepal has witnessed a fresh increase in fuel prices after the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) raised the rates of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs 15 per litre, intensifying cost pressures across sectors.
According to an official notice issued on Wednesday evening, the revised pricing structure introduces new rates across three regional categories. Following the adjustment, petrol now costs Rs 184 per litre in the first category, Rs 186 in the second, and Rs 187 in the third category.
Similarly, diesel and kerosene prices have also been revised upward. In the first category, the price has reached Rs 164.50 per litre, while it stands at Rs 166 in the second and Rs 167 in the third category.
The corporation has classified locations such as Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhganj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj under the first category. Surkhet and Dang fall under the second category, while Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal are included in the third category.
The price revision reflects ongoing adjustments in the domestic fuel market, with the latest hike expected to have broader implications on transportation costs and overall economic activity.
