Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Dr. Bikram Timilsina, has declared that the current administration is fully committed to bringing individuals responsible for past administrative malpractice to justice. He emphasized that the government is acting on a direct public mandate to prosecute those who previously engaged in "settings" and backroom deals to defraud the country.
Speaking at the 76th anniversary of Radio Nepal in Singha Durbar on Friday, the Minister stated that the political landscape has now cleared, allowing for a more accountable governance structure. He noted that the ministry is no longer a place for clandestine agreements but is instead focused on identifying and penalizing those who misused their power in the past.
According to Dr. Timilsina, the government is currently operating under immense pressure to deliver tangible results. He expressed a preference for focusing on high-impact work over public ceremonies, stressing that the administration's primary goal is to remain transparent and deviate "not even an inch" from ethical conduct while ensuring no wrongdoer escapes accountability.
The Minister also directed subordinate bodies and civil servants to work with absolute integrity. He argued that had the political system been clean in previous years, institutional issues such as pension and gratuity delays at Radio Nepal would not exist today. He urged employees to perform their duties in a way that creates a legacy of pride and restores hope for the younger generation.
This firm stance against corruption signals a shift toward a result-oriented bureaucracy, where the effectiveness of the government will be measured by its ability to clean up systemic irregularities.
