The foundation stone for the construction of the Ngagyur Nyingma Palyul Dhongag Chholing Monastery was jointly laid on 14 July 2026 in the Likhu Pike Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu district, located within the Koshi province of Nepal. The official ceremony was performed by the Chairperson of the Likhu Pike Rural Municipality, Mina Karki Basnet, alongside the Second Secretary from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, Ajay Kumar Singh.

Designated as a High Impact Community Development Project, the venture is being implemented directly through the local administration of the Likhu Pike Rural Municipality and stands as the sixth such community development initiative supported by India within the Solukhumbu district.

Local leadership and regional stakeholders expressed their appreciation for the developmental assistance provided by the Indian government during the ceremony. The Chairperson of the rural municipality stated that the new institutional infrastructure would significantly contribute to preserving the unique cultural heritage native to the Likhu Pike region.

Official communications from the Indian Embassy highlighted that the two nations continue to maintain wide-ranging, multi-sectoral cooperation as close neighboring states. The implementation of these localized community projects emphasizes the continued support of the Government of India toward reinforcing the development objectives of the Government of Nepal, aiming to boost growth while expanding essential infrastructure in designated priority sectors. This latest infrastructure initiative represents another progressive step toward deepening bilateral community development partnerships between the two countries.
