India Inaugurates Health Post in Darchula, Benefiting Over 15,000 People

DARCHULA – In a significant step towards strengthening India-Nepal development cooperation, a newly constructed Health Post Building in Naugad Rural Municipality, Darchula, built with India’s financial assistance of NPR 25.36 million, was inaugurated today. The facility was jointly inaugurated by Daljeet Singh Dhami, Chairman of Naugad Rural Municipality, and Avinash Kumar Singh, Counsellor at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu. The event was attended by political representatives, government officials, and social workers.

Improving Healthcare in Remote Areas

Funded under the ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’, the project was implemented through Naugad Rural Municipality as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP). The newly constructed infrastructure aims to enhance healthcare services in remote regions, benefiting over 15,000 residents.

Local leaders and stakeholders expressed appreciation for India’s continued support in Nepal’s development efforts, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in uplifting rural communities. The health post is expected to improve healthcare accessibility in Nepal’s Far-Western region, contributing to the overall development of the health sector.

Strengthening India-Nepal Ties

As close neighbors, India and Nepal continue to engage in broad-based cooperation across multiple sectors. The implementation of HICDPs reflects India's commitment to supporting Nepal’s priority development projects, reinforcing bilateral ties and fostering regional progress.
