India Supports School Infrastructure with HICDP Project in Gulmi
Kathmandu — The foundation stone for the construction of the Shree Ninyukharka Secondary School building at Dhurkot Rural Municipality–3 in Gulmi District, Lumbini Province, was laid on Tuesday under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP). The ceremony was jointly conducted by Ms. Gitanjali Brandon, Counsellor at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Mr. Bhupal Pokharel, Chairman of Dhurkot Rural Municipality.

The school building is being constructed with financial assistance of NRs. 38 million from the Government of India. The project is being implemented through Dhurkot Rural Municipality as part of India’s development cooperation with Nepal.

The new infrastructure will include a two-storeyed school building with classrooms and allied facilities, including furniture. Local representatives, school management, and other stakeholders expressed appreciation for the developmental support provided by the Government of India.
As close neighbours and development partners, India and Nepal continue to engage in wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects India’s continued support in strengthening Nepal’s efforts toward growth and development.
