A fugitive who had been evading the law following a theft conviction has been apprehended by law enforcement officials in Parsa. The District Police Office in Parsa confirmed the successful operation, which targeted an individual hiding within the local community.
Acting on a specific tip-off, a dedicated judgment execution team from the Ward Police Office in Sripur was deployed to track down the offender. The operation culminated on Wednesday evening at approximately 9:10 PM in Pipara Tole, located in Ward No. 14 of the Birgunj Metropolitan City.
The apprehended individual has been identified as 27-year-old Roshan Patel, a resident of the same locality where he was found hiding. According to the official press release issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Patel had been actively fleeing the authorities to escape his judicial punishment.
The Parsa District Court had previously pronounced Patel guilty in a theft case. The judiciary had sentenced him to serve a four-month prison term and imposed a financial penalty amounting to 20,000 Rupees, both of which he had failed to honor before his capture.
Following his arrest at the scene, police officials transferred the convict directly to the Parsa District Court. The legal system will now oversee the immediate commencement of his prison sentence and ensure compliance with the court's prior rulings.
