A major counter-narcotics operation in Morang district has successfully disrupted an illegal transit route, leading to the recovery of 922 kilograms of contraband. Acting on intelligence, the Armed Police Force intercepted a major shipment being transported through the Mahadebkol area in Jahada Rural Municipality-7.

The operation commenced late at night following a strategic tip-off received by security personnel. A joint tactical team deployed from the Sorabhag Border Security Bureau and the Nocha Border Outpost successfully tracked down the targeted vehicle during the late-night hours.

Law enforcement officers discovered that the smugglers had packed the contraband into 29 individual bundles. To evade security checkpoints, these bundles were completely buried beneath a thick layer of rice husks inside a commercial pickup truck, registered under the license plate Ko 1 Kha 7022, which was heading toward Tarigama from Laxminiya.

The security forces also impounded an Indian-registered motorcycle, bearing the plate BR 38 Z 7452, which was actively scouting the route ahead of the cargo vehicle to alert them of police presence.

While the physical evidence was secured at the scene, the drivers of both the pickup truck and the accompanying motorcycle managed to flee into the darkness during the initial interception. The confiscated contraband along with both seized vehicles have been handed over to the designated legal authorities for further investigation.
