A significant step toward enhancing educational infrastructure in Koshi Province was taken today with the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Janta Secondary School in Gauradah Municipality, Jhapa. Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki led the ceremony alongside Geethanjali Brandon, Counselor from the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Gauradah Mayor Chhatrapati Subedi.

The construction of this new academic facility is being funded through a financial grant of approximately NPR 58 million provided by the Government of India. Classified as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP), the initiative is designed to directly benefit the local population by creating a modern learning environment for both students and teachers.

During the event, Chief Minister Karki and other local stakeholders expressed their gratitude for the continued developmental assistance provided by India. They emphasized that the new structure would significantly strengthen the quality of education available within Gauradah Municipality.

The project is being implemented directly through the local government of Gauradah. This collaboration highlights the multi-sectoral partnership between India and Nepal, focusing on grassroots infrastructure that supports the long-term prosperity of the region.

This latest cooperation reflects India's ongoing commitment to supporting Nepal’s national efforts in achieving sustainable development through priority sector infrastructure. As construction begins, the community looks forward to a facility that will serve as a cornerstone for academic growth for years to come.
