Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has officially resumed an active role within the CPN-UML after taking the oath of office as a senior leader of the party.

Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli administered the oath to Bhandari during the opening session of the party’s Standing Committee meeting in Kathmandu.

This marks Bhandari's first attendance at an official CPN-UML executive body meeting since her elevation to the senior leadership position. Her formal induction comes after the party’s Secretariat nominated her on September 24, a decision recently endorsed by the Central Committee.

Prior to her tenure as Nepal's Head of State, Bhandari had served as the party’s vice-chairperson. Her return to the organizational hierarchy in a senior capacity represents a notable political realignment within the CPN-UML structure.

With the oath formally administered, Bhandari is set to actively engage in the party's ongoing strategy sessions and decision-making processes moving forward.
