Indian Minister Khattar Concludes Nepal Visit with High-Level Meetings

Kathmandu – India's Minister of Power, Housing, and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, concluded his significant two-day official visit to Nepal today with high-level courtesy meetings with the country's leadership.
Minister Khattar paid a courtesy call on the Right Honourable Prime Minister of Nepal, K.P. Sharma Oli. During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed the close and friendly ties that exist between India and Nepal. Discussions centered on further strengthening the already robust cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the vital power sector, a key focus of Minister Khattar's visit.
Earlier in the day, Minister Khattar also met with the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh. Their talks explored potential avenues for collaboration between India and Nepal in the areas of sustainable urban development and infrastructure projects, leveraging Minister Khattar's dual portfolio covering both Power and Urban Affairs.
These meetings followed a busy schedule for Minister Khattar, which included a site visit to the Arun-3 Hydropower Project, the joint inauguration of sections of the Koshi Corridor Transmission Line, and witnessing the signing of a crucial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for developing two new 400 kV cross-border transmission corridors.
Minister Khattar's visit, marked by substantive engagements in the energy sector and high-level political meetings, underscores the continued commitment of both India and Nepal to deepen their multifaceted partnership, particularly in infrastructure development and energy cooperation.
