Ravi Lamichhane's Secret Banking Dealings Exposed: New Twist in the Co-operative Scandal
New evidence has emerged about Ravi Lamichhane's alleged involvement in a co-operative scandal, which he has long denied. According to sources, Lamichhane, along with GB Rai and Chhabilal Joshi, opened a joint account under the name 'Gorkha Media Network Pvt. Ltd.' at Global IME Bank. During the account opening, all three individuals completed Know Your Customer (KYC) forms.
GB Rai, chairman of Gorkha Media Network, has been accused of illegally channeling savings from various co-operatives across different cities into the company. At that time, Lamichhane was the managing director of Galaxy Television. However, he has consistently claimed that he neither took any loans nor engaged in financial transactions related to the scandal.
The revelation of Lamichhane's involvement with the joint account at Global IME Bank has reignited interest in the case. It is suspected that the trio opened the account to invest co-operative funds into Galaxy Television.
According to police sources, all three individuals signed documents agreeing to comply with the bank's rules when opening the account. Investigations are ongoing to determine the amount deposited and the dates and persons who withdrew the funds.
Lamichhane has previously denied any involvement in the co-operative scandal. However, this new evidence challenges his claims. Police officials are conducting further investigations, expecting more revelations to follow.
