Indian Embassy in Nepal Celebrates 155th Gandhi Jayanti with Musical Tributes and Felicitations

Kathmandu, Nepal – The Indian Embassy in Nepal commemorated the 155th Gandhi Jayanti with a solemn ceremony, paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy of peace and non-violence. In a special post on X.com, @IndiaInNepal shared highlights of the event, which was led by the Indian Ambassador.

The Ambassador paid floral tributes to a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, honoring the Father of the Nation on his birth anniversary. The event featured a mesmerizing performance by Ms. Saraswati Khatri of the renowned Sur Sudha Band, who performed hymns and musical compositions dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. The soulful melodies resonated with the audience, reminding everyone of Gandhi’s lifelong message of simplicity and harmony.

Representatives from the Nepal Charkha Pracharak Gandhi-Tulasi Smarak Mahaguthi also joined the celebrations, emphasizing the deep-rooted connections between Nepal and Gandhi’s philosophies. As part of the event, the Indian Ambassador took the opportunity to felicitate the sanitation workers of the Embassy, recognizing their dedication and hard work, aligning with Gandhi’s vision of cleanliness and dignity of labor.
