Siraha. Siraha police have arrested Rameshwar Parajuli on charges of collecting advance payments and commissions promising to secure development projects from the Madhesh Province government.
According to source claims, Parajuli is reportedly close to Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav and his son Amarendra Yadav. He has also been accused of being associated with a group alleged to have arranged and sold various provincial schemes during the tenure of the then Madhesh Province Finance Minister Sanjay Yadav.
According to sources, Parajuli allegedly took advance commission money from various individuals claiming he could secure projects under the Madhesh Province government. However, following the recent change of government in Madhesh Province, he failed to deliver the promised projects, leading to an increasing number of demands for refunds.
It is reported that after he failed to return the money, some individuals lodged a complaint with the police, based on which police took Parajuli into custody and initiated an investigation.
The total amount collected and the number of individuals involved are yet to be disclosed by the investigation. Police are reportedly investigating bank transactions, monetary dealings, and the potential involvement of other individuals related to the case.
This incident has reignited debate over allegations of middlemen and commission games in the development projects of the Madhesh Province government. However, the charges against Parajuli are yet to be proven, and the final outcome of the investigation and judicial process is awaited.
When attempting to get comments from Upendra Yadav, Amarendra Yadav, and Sanjay Yadav on this matter, they did not wish to come into contact.
