Prime Minister Balendra Shah has formally committed to fast-tracking the development of the Shaheed Dashrath Chand University of Health Sciences. This strategic pledge came following a crucial meeting with a delegation of parliamentarians from Sudurpaschim Province at the Prime Minister's official residence in Singha Durbar on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister confirmed that the government is prepared to release the necessary budget immediately to ensure the university project moves beyond its current state. Lawmaker Janak Singh Dhami, representing Kanchanpur-1, noted that while the current fiscal year faces budget constraints, the administration is prioritizing projects that address the most pressing public needs.

In addition to the medical university, the Prime Minister assured lawmakers that efforts to operationalize the Gokuleshwar Airport would be accelerated. These developments are viewed as vital steps in strengthening the health and transportation infrastructure of the far-western region.

The discussions also spanned a wide range of regional challenges, including the management of the border area with India, the provision of clean drinking water, and the enhancement of local education and healthcare facilities. MP Khemraj Koirala of Kailali-4 highlighted the need to revive infrastructure projects that had stalled following the "Gen-Z" movement, including the Dhangadhi-Dipayal Fast Track.

By maintaining regular consultations with regional representatives, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government has no intention of obstructing essential development initiatives. The focus remains on unblocking stalled cabinet decisions to ensure that critical public interest projects reach completion without further delay.
