The Cyber Bureau of the Nepal Police has officially intervened in the digital broadcasting space by summoning and cautioning three prominent local comedians and podcasters. The law enforcement action follows the widespread circulation of a video containing highly objectionable language.
The individuals pulled in for questioning have been identified as Sajan Shrestha, Utsav Sapkota, and Bishal Gautam. According to authorities, the trio signed formal commitments promising to abstain from broadcasting profane language in the future before they were permitted to leave.
Superintendent of Police and Cyber Bureau Information Officer Dilip Kumar Giri confirmed that the investigation was triggered by an episode of "The Last Question," a digital talk show hosted by Shrestha. During the broadcast, guest speakers Sapkota and Gautam reportedly utilized deeply vulgar vocabulary, which caught the attention of monitoring authorities.
Giri stated that the creators were called into the bureau a few days ago, where they finalized a legal undertaking to maintain decency in their upcoming public content.
The three creative professionals are well-known figures within the domestic entertainment landscape, regularly producing and anchoring various stand-up comedy shows and digital audio-visual programs. This regulatory step marks a growing scrutiny over digital content standards and online etiquette within the country's expanding independent media sector.
