He was referring to PM Surya Bahadur Thapa’s abrupt rise (and fall). Are we expecting a similar situation?
Youthful version of Oli
Many believe the rag-tag government of Balen Sarker is nothing more than a scarecrow planted by outside forces. Others point to Bhadrakali as the source of the power. There are still others assuming it to be a youthful version of Oli. Refer to the picture above. An alternative to Oli cannot be worse than Oli. Oli babbles a lot, but Mister Terminator prefers to follow Benjamin Franklin’s wisdom: “Better keep your mouth shut and thought a fool than to open it and remove all the doubts.” Even Madhesi community has disowned him. He is simply a “Non-resident Madhesi (NRM)”. There is a basic character with Madhesi people, when they get into power, they become more Pahadiyas than Pahadiya themselves. They renounce speaking Bhojpuri, Maithali or Hindi and start talking like a Nepali babu. Remember, he becoming morenewar than newars in Kathmandu?
Limits to indecency
Many points to his indecent behaviour by bunking the parliament, at the middle, when the President presenting the annual programs of the government. His indecent behaviour not only shocked his opponents, but his party men as well. I ask the reader to go back into the past and watch how he forced an octogenarian President to walk from Indrachowk to Basantapur during Indra Jatra festival - giving heritage site as a reason to ban president’s car. There must be a price for indecent behaviour. I am waiting for up-coming Indra Jatra festival this year.
You don’t need to listen to him, just reading his tweets, present or past, full of foul, distasteful, swearing, indecent languages. If these tweets are coming from a person at the helm of power in Nepal, I request an almighty above, if he or she is there, to save this country from this roughshod. One can fairly imagine the kind of brain working behind. A pure narcissist at work- He is here for development, claims working 24 hours per day. Have you seen any politician explicitly claiming he is here, not for development but for destruction? He is not here to speak, to talk, he is here to do job, produce results.
Process vs. Results, Manager vs. Leader
In the pursuit of results process does not matter. For him, what is the point in having a successful operation when you cannot save the patient? But the problem is: Results are nowhere to be seen. He keeps himself busy, physically, moving randomly, giving an impression of he got limited time.
Similarly, in the pursuit of popularity, principle does not count. In fact, in the world of populism, you cannot find principle. Populism becomes the principle and stunts become the strength. He assumes himself to be the law, the state, where everything is suppose to gravitate and concentrate.
Churning two theories
Deducing from his words and deeds, one can discern two theories. One, present yourself as the savior of this country. It does not matter whether believe you or not, just tell them your purpose, why and what you are here to do. “Do not speak, keep your mouth shut, remain inaccessible, invisible, give an impression of busyness.” Two, blame your opponents for all the ills in the country, for all the mishaps during last 35 years. Discredit old political parties as far as possible- using all possible indecent words and phrases - for looting and plundering of this country. What happened before 35 years is not material for you because you were not even born in this world. There are other two lines of thoughts: Old is bad, new is good; young people are good and elders to be useless and outdated.
Psycho-borg in offing
A cyborg is a combination of man and machine. Man is said to be slow, clumsy but he is smart. Machine is fast, accurate but stupid. Cyborg seeks to combine positive features of the two. When you combine neative features, you end up with a psycho-borg.
