Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has officially lauded the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal for its outstanding contributions to disaster management and humanitarian rescue operations. During an inspection visit to the APF Headquarters on April 30, the Minister emphasized that the role played by the force in times of crisis has been exemplary. After reviewing a display of specialized disaster management equipment, Minister Gurung assured the leadership that the Ministry of Home Affairs is committed to further empowering the organization to reach new heights of operational excellence.
The Minister’s visit was marked by a series of nostalgic reflections on his long-standing collaboration with various APF officers during past national emergencies. He specifically recalled working alongside Deputy Inspector General Bishnu Prasad Bhatta during the COVID-19 pandemic to distribute oxygen cylinders at Nepal APF Hospital. Furthermore, Senior Superintendent Madhav Prasad Poudel noted that Minister Gurung had previously undergone disaster volunteer training under his command at the Kurintar training center, suggesting that the Minister's firsthand technical knowledge will facilitate more effective coordination between the government and the security forces.

In addition to technical cooperation, senior officials recalled the Minister’s patriotic initiatives, such as his active involvement with Senior Superintendent Rajendra Khadka in replacing the national flag at the Nepal-India border in Parsa. Expressing deep gratitude to the personnel who risk their lives for the safety of citizens, Minister Gurung stated that reuniting with his former trainers was a moment of personal pride. He concluded by reiterating his resolve to streamline administrative support to ensure the APF remains a formidable frontline responder to future natural calamities.
