Large numbers of devotees gathered at temples across Nepal on the occasion of Chaite Dashain, reflecting the festival’s continued religious and cultural significance. From early morning, major shrines in the Kathmandu Valley witnessed a steady flow of worshippers offering prayers and seeking blessings.
Temples including Bhadra Kali, Maitidevi, Naxal Bhagwati, Shobha Bhagwati, and Guhyeshwari saw notable crowds, as devotees performed rituals associated with the day. According to reports, the belief that worshipping the goddess on this occasion brings peace, prosperity, and fulfillment of wishes continues to draw people in large numbers.
Outside the valley, prominent pilgrimage sites such as Manakamana in Gorkha, Bindhyabasini in Pokhara, Baglung Kalika, and Pathibhara in Taplejung also recorded significant attendance. The festival, observed twice a year, is considered the smaller Dashain compared to the one celebrated in Ashoj, yet it holds strong spiritual importance.
Rituals dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati remain central to the observance, mirroring traditions seen during the major Dashain festival. The religious sequence continues the following day with Ram Navami, when temples dedicated to Lord Ram host special celebrations to mark his birth anniversary.
The ongoing participation across regions underscores the enduring role of traditional festivals in connecting communities through shared faith and cultural practices.
