India Hands Over New School Infrastructure to Pyuthan’s Shree Dang-Bang Secondary School
Kathmandu, Nov 19, 2025 — The Government of India has inaugurated newly built school and hostel buildings at Shree Dang-Bang Secondary School in Pyuthan, Lumbini Province, under its High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) initiative.

The infrastructure was jointly inaugurated by Ms. Gitanjali Brandon, Counsellor at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Mr. Nabil Vikram Shah, Chairman of Airawati Rural Municipality. The ceremony was attended by political representatives, government officials, social workers, teachers, students, and parents.
According to the Embassy, India’s financial assistance was utilized to construct the school buildings, hostel facilities, and associated infrastructure. The project was implemented through the Airawati Rural Municipality.

Shree Dang-Bang Secondary School, one of the prominent public schools in rural Pyuthan, currently provides education from Early Childhood Development (ECD/Playgroup) to Grade 10. It serves 234 students, nearly 60 percent of whom are girls.
Local representatives and school management expressed gratitude for India’s continued developmental partnership, stating that the new infrastructure would significantly improve the learning environment and contribute to strengthening the region’s education sector.

The Embassy highlighted that HICDPs represent India’s ongoing support to Nepal across multiple priority sectors. As close neighbours, India and Nepal continue to collaborate on wide-ranging developmental, social, and infrastructural initiatives aimed at fostering regional growth and community upliftment.
