The Armed Police Force (APF) has arrested three individuals from Gangakhel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14 on July 28 (Saun 12) after seizing a massive consignment of illegal pharmaceutical drugs.
According to police authorities, the arrested individuals have been identified as 26-year-old Rakesh Kumar Shah, who reportedly claims India as his home; 21-year-old Nausad Ansari, a resident of Kalaiya-5 in Bara district; and 24-year-old Dipak Rai, originally from Manebhanjyang-5 in Okhaldhunga district and currently residing in Mahalakshmisthan-6, Lalitpur.
A special operation team from the APF Intelligence Bureau executed the arrests based on specific intelligence indicating that the suspects were allegedly smuggling controlled narcotic substances from India and illegally distributing them in the local market.
During the raid, security personnel recovered 120,000 capsules of the controlled pharmaceutical drug Tramadol from their possession. Additionally, law enforcement officers confiscated a mini-truck bearing registration number BAC 7017, a motorcycle with registration number Bagmati Province 01-02065 Pa 4489, three mobile phones, and an undisclosed amount of Nepali currency.
The suspects and the confiscated items have been taken into custody for necessary legal proceedings and further investigation into the cross-border trafficking network.
