US Targets China Over Fentanyl, Trade War Heats Up!

Beijing, China – The ongoing tensions between the United States and China have escalated further as Washington intensifies trade investigations, with Beijing calling the move a direct attack on Chinese interests. While urging dialogue to resolve differences, China has dismissed US concerns over fentanyl, insisting that the US must tackle the crisis internally rather than blaming foreign suppliers.

A Congressional Research Service report from last year highlighted that fentanyl entering the US is largely manufactured in Mexico, using chemical precursors sourced from China. While some of these precursors are internationally regulated, others remain legally exportable from China.

Amid these disputes, China's Foreign Ministry warned in early February that fresh US tariffs could negatively impact cooperation on counter-narcotics efforts, signaling potential setbacks in bilateral relations.

With trade tensions and drug policy debates colliding, the standoff between the two superpowers continues to intensify, leaving global markets and diplomatic ties hanging in the balance.
