Min Bahadur Gurung's Rare Public Appearance Shocks Everyone at Tech Event!
In a surprising turn of events, Min Bahadur Gurung, the Chairman of Bhatbhateni Supermarket, made a rare public appearance at the inauguration of the new showroom of Chinese tech company UNV in Kathmandu. The event, held at the CTC Mall in Sundhara on Wednesday, became a remarkable affair due to Gurung's presence, who typically shies away from public events. Gurung co-inaugurated the showroom alongside a robot and UNV's South Asia Director, Stephen Tian.
The new showroom boasts cutting-edge digital security products, including surveillance systems, automatic door lock systems, facial recognition-based attendance systems (e-attendance), video intercom systems, and interactive smart boards of various sizes. These offerings highlight the technological advancements UNV is bringing to the Nepali market.
Hari Ram Rimal, Director of UNV Store Pvt. Ltd., revealed that they plan to collaborate on electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Nepal in the near future. Despite their young age, Hari Ram and his co-founder Badri Prasad Rimal have managed to achieve significant maturity in their business after five years of partnership.
During the event, Gurung shared that he has been working with the UNV team for the past 16 years and expressed his desire for deeper collaboration in new technologies in the future. Stephen Tian praised the honesty and hard work of Nepali entrepreneurs and expressed his enthusiasm for increasing investments in Nepal’s tech sector.
To celebrate the grand opening, a 20% discount on most products was announced, which will continue until further notice. The inauguration drew over 400 attendees, with more than 150 dealers across the country offering UNV products. According to Sardarak Adhikari, UNV Nepal's Sales Head, the company plans to expand its smart store network throughout Nepal.
