Janakpur: Rameshwor Parajuli, who was arrested on charges of collecting advance money and commissions promising to secure development schemes from the Madhesh Province government, has been rearrested immediately after refunding the money.
Siraha Police had released Parajuli based on a mutual agreement between the two parties after he refunded the sum, including Rs 800,000 allegedly taken from Kamal Yadav of Siraha on the pretext of securing project work. However, shortly after his release, Mahottari Police rearrested him, according to sources.
According to sources, Parajuli is also accused of collecting over Rs 10 million in Mahottari in the name of development schemes. He is further accused of collecting commissions by promising to secure development projects across various districts of Madhesh Province.
Sources alleged that Parajuli was used as an agent to collect money in the name of arranging plans during the tenure of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal leader and then Finance Minister Sanjay Kumar Yadav. Sources also alleged that Parajuli had close ties with JSP Nepal Chair Upendra Yadav and his son Amarendra Yadav, and collected commissions under their protection. However, these allegations remain independently unverified.

According to sources, Parajuli is accused of collecting money from various individuals across almost all districts of Madhesh Province by promising to pass development projects and release budgets. It is claimed that he took advance payments from some and collected commissions after the completion of work from others.
Sources claim that the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) is also investigating the matter. The full reality is expected to become clear only after further investigation into the allegations against Parajuli, the financial transactions, and political connections.
Although he was released in Siraha based on agreement after returning the money, his rearrest in Mahottari is set to deepen the investigation into the money allegedly collected across various districts and financial transactions linked to development projects.
When attempts were made to contact Upendra Yadav, Amarendra Yadav, and Sanjay Kumar Yadav regarding this matter, they could not be reached.
