In a significant move toward digital governance, the Ministry of Home Affairs has officially launched the inter-linkage between the Centralized Citizenship Management Information System and the National Identity Management Information System. This integration aims to eliminate the repetitive process of submitting identical personal data across various government departments.

During an inspection of the District Administration Office in Lalitpur on Sunday, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal informed journalists that the new system effectively removes the requirement for citizens to fill out separate application forms for services of a similar nature. By synchronizing these databases, the government intends to establish a more citizen-friendly administrative environment that prioritizes efficiency over bureaucracy.

According to Minister Aryal, the primary objective of this reform is to minimize the financial burden and time investment previously required for National ID registration. Until now, citizens were mandated to visit specific National ID units to manually fill out registration forms before providing biometric data. With the systems now talking to each other, the need for manual form submission is being phased out.

The Minister confirmed that this integrated service has already been rolled out across 12 different service locations. While the initial phase focuses on these specific hubs, the government plans to expand this interconnected digital infrastructure across the entire country, ensuring that all citizens can eventually access hassle-free public services through a unified data portal.
