Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML chairman KP Sharma Oli is mourning the loss of his father, Mohan Prasad Oli, who passed away at the age of 97.
According to hospital sources, Mohan Prasad Oli died on Thursday morning at a hospital in Gatthaghar, where he had been receiving medical care. Family members said he had been unwell for some time prior to his death.
Preparations are underway to bring the body to the Oli family residence in Gundhu. The final rites are scheduled to be performed later the same day at Pashupati Aryaghat in Kathmandu.
The CPN-UML leader’s secretariat confirmed the arrangements for the cremation and expressed condolences to family members and well-wishers.
Mohan Prasad Oli is survived by two sons and three daughters.
