The District Police Office in Parsa has apprehended a 47-year-old man who had been a fugitive for twenty-one years following a fatal road accident. According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the suspect, identified as Dinesh Prasad Yadav of Parsagadhi Municipality Ward No. 5, was taken into custody earlier today. A specialized team from the Ward Police Office in Shreepur executed the arrest after receiving specific intelligence regarding his whereabouts.
The incident occurred on December 1, 2005, at approximately 15:00 hours in the road section near the sugar mill residential area of Birgunj. Yadav was allegedly operating a motorcycle with registration number Na. 3 Pa 6362 when he struck a 65-year-old pedestrian identified as Kalika Singh Rajput. Following the collision, the operator reportedly abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled the area to evade authorities.
According to police records, the victim was a resident of the current Jitpur Simara Sub-Metropolitan City in Bara district. With the assistance of local citizens and police personnel, the injured party was transported to B&B Hospital in Lalitpur for medical intervention. However, the victim was declared dead by medical professionals on December 12, 2005, at approximately 18:30 hours due to the severity of his injuries.
The suspect was located hiding at his permanent residence and was apprehended at approximately 08:00 hours this morning. Authorities have confirmed that Yadav is currently being held at the District Police Office for further legal proceedings. Law enforcement officials are now conducting a comprehensive investigation into the vehicular homicide charges filed against the individual.
