The federal cabinet has approved a set of decisions that simultaneously advance Nepal’s diplomatic engagement with Japan and adjust welfare provisions for the national police force, reflecting a dual focus on foreign relations and internal administration.
Government spokesperson and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal announced that the cabinet meeting held on Thursday at Baluwatar endorsed the official visit of President Ram Chandra Paudel to Japan, scheduled to begin on Magh 18. The visit will be led by the President himself along with an official delegation.
According to the government, the three-day visit from Magh 18 to 21 is tied to events marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan. The participation is expected to represent Nepal at commemorative programs organized on this occasion.
Alongside the foreign visit decision, the cabinet also resolved to revise the ration scale for Nepal Police personnel. Minister Aryal stated that both the ration scale and the daily ration allowance have been increased.
The revised ration provisions will come into force starting from Falgun 1, with the decision formally applicable from the beginning of the new fiscal implementation period.
