India-Assisted Diding School Building Inaugurated in Sankhuwasabha
Kathmandu. The school building of Shree Diding Basic School, constructed with financial assistance from the Government of India, was inaugurated today at Chichila Rural Municipality–3 in Sankhuwasabha district of Koshi Province. The inauguration was jointly carried out by Mr. Basist Nandan, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, and Mr. Pasang Nurbu Sherpa, Chairman of Chichila Rural Municipality.

The project was implemented as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) through Chichila Rural Municipality. Along with the school building, allied facilities were also developed under the initiative.
Established in 1962, Shree Diding Basic School currently provides education from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to Grade 5. Local representatives, school management and stakeholders expressed appreciation for India’s development support, stating that the new infrastructure will enhance the learning environment and contribute to strengthening the education sector in the region.

India and Nepal continue to engage in close, multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the Government of India’s ongoing support for Nepal’s development efforts, particularly in strengthening grassroots-level infrastructure in priority sectors.
