Most recently, in preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers scheduled in Oman this October, Nepal's national cricket team received specialized training at BCCI’s state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru from July 21 to August 3, 2025. Such high-caliber international exposure underscores a profound commitment—one that transcends mere goodwill gestures and demonstrates genuine investment in Nepal's cricketing potential.

But India's cricket diplomacy didn't begin overnight. Back in January 2024, India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar personally met representatives from the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and Nepal’s national team, affirming India’s dedication to supporting Nepalese cricket at every step. Since then, India’s cricket fraternity has consistently backed its promises. In August 2024, ahead of Nepal's crucial appearance at the ICC T20 World Cup, Bengaluru hosted intensive training sessions to hone Nepali cricket talent.

Institutional collaboration has also proven decisive. A decade ago, India's cricket diplomacy began modestly—with the gifting of a bus to CAN in 2013. Fast forward to October 2023, India's embassy, through the BP Koirala India-Nepal Foundation and SJVN Ltd, provided Nepal's national cricket squad with high-quality sports equipment, signaling increased dedication to boosting Nepali cricket infrastructure comprehensively.
