Foundation Stone Laid for Multipurpose School Building in Dullu, Dailekh with Indian Assistance

The foundation stone for the construction of Shree Nepal Rastriya Secondary School Multipurpose Building in Dullu Municipality, Dailekh, was laid today in a joint ceremony by Mr. Ghanshyam Bhandari, Hon’ble Minister of Social Development, Karnali Province Government; Mr. Avinash Kumar Singh, Counsellor at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu; and Mr. Bharat Prasad Rijal, Mayor of Dullu Municipality. The event was attended by political representatives, government officials, social workers, teachers, students, and parents.

NRs. 39 Million Project Under Nepal-India Development Cooperation
The multipurpose school building is being constructed with NRs. 39 million in financial assistance from the Government of India under the 'Nepal-India Development Cooperation' initiative. The building will be a three-and-a-half-floor structure, incorporating a handicraft showcase area, a library, a cultural section dedicated to the Dullu Kingdom, a multipurpose hall, office spaces, and other facilities. The project is categorized as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) and is being implemented through the Dullu Municipality, Dailekh.

Strengthening Nepal-India Development Partnership
During the event, dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Minister of Karnali Province and the Mayor of Dullu Municipality, expressed their appreciation for India’s continuous developmental support to Nepal. They emphasized that the new infrastructure will provide students and the local community with better educational resources while preserving the history and culture of the Dullu Kingdom. Additionally, they highlighted the project's role in enhancing learning environments and contributing to the overall growth of education and cultural development in Karnali Province.

India’s Ongoing Support for Nepal’s Development
Since 2003, the Government of India has undertaken over 563 High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDPs) in Nepal, completing 495 projects across various sectors. Among these, 15 projects are in Karnali Province. Furthermore, India has donated 1,009 ambulances and 300 school buses to hospitals, health posts, and educational institutions in Nepal, including 50 ambulances and 8 school buses for Karnali Province.

As close neighbors, India and Nepal continue to collaborate on multi-sectoral development initiatives. The implementation of HICDPs demonstrates India’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s infrastructure growth and development, particularly in priority sectors such as education and community welfare.
