Nepal Launches Free Screening Drive, Health Minister Urges Nationwide Participation

Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel, has called on all concerned agencies and stakeholders to ensure the success of the free screening campaign against non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

The campaign, launched today, aims to promote preventive healthcare and reduce the rising burden of NCDs in Nepal. In an official statement, Minister Paudel highlighted that nearly 75% of all deaths in Nepal are caused by NCDs, with climate change and rapid urbanization further exacerbating the crisis.

Recognizing the urgent need for a community-driven approach, the Ministry has initiated this campaign to provide preventive, remedial, and curative healthcare services at the grassroots level. The goal is to break the vicious cycle of diseases and safeguard public health.

"We are making all-out efforts to enhance healthcare services and improve treatment quality across the country," Minister Paudel affirmed in his statement.
