Massive Landslide Devastates Kavre: Swift Aid from Nepal-India Friendship Association
Recently, multiple municipalities in the Kavrepalanchok district have been severely affected by devastating landslides, causing significant human and material losses. Areas like Benighat Rural Municipality, Roshi Rural Municipality, Mandan Deupur Municipality, Namobuddha, and Timal Rural Municipality have been directly impacted. In response, the Nepal-India Friendship Association has quickly taken proactive steps to assist the affected communities.
On October 2, 2024, the association, in collaboration with the Indian Embassy, distributed relief materials. This included 450 blankets, 425 mosquito nets, along with medicines and other essential items. The relief distribution program was led by the district branch president of the association, Mr. Bishwaram Shrestha, with the materials being handed over to the local head, Mr. Ramnarayan Gandhariya, mayor of Panaiti Municipality.
The program was efficiently organized under the special initiative of the association's general secretary, Mr. Bokkrishna Subedi, who took decisive measures to ensure the aid distribution was effective, in collaboration with the Indian Embassy. The association expressed deep sympathy for the victims, pledging to continue providing support in other affected areas as well.
