Budhanilkantha: While a massive fire is raging in the forests of Shivapuri hills above Budhanilkantha in the northern part of Kathmandu, the local administration and security agencies have expressed ignorance about the incident.

Despite such a major incident occurring, Kathmandu's Chief District Officer (CDO) Ishwor Raj Paudel stated that he has not received any information regarding the fire in the Shivapuri area so far. Similarly, Nepal Police also responded that they have no information regarding this matter. The lack of awareness from the administration and police mechanisms on a sensitive issue like a fire has made the incident more mysterious and serious.

Suspicion of Damage to Army Structures

The area where the fire broke out is near a Nepal Army camp and a controlled zone. According to the latest information received, there is a serious suspicion that the forest under the control of the Nepal Army, along with physical structures and important goods inside, may have been destroyed by the fire.

The fact that news has not reached the administration and police while the fire spreads in an army-controlled area has led to speculations that communication links might be severed or the army is attempting to control the fire internally. However, a detailed account of the damage and an official stance from the army are yet to be released.
