Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ramprasad Bhandari, alongside Commissioners Dr. Janukakumari Tuladhar and Sagun Shamsher JBR, presided over the formal handover ceremony. Their endorsement effectively bridges the gap between the ballot box and the legislative chamber, granting official parliamentary status to the representatives of six qualifying political parties.
The final PR tally cements a significant shift in the political landscape. The Rastriya Swatantra Party emerged as the dominant force in this electoral category, securing an overwhelming 57 seats. They are followed by the Nepali Congress with 20 seats, the CPN-UML with 16, and the Nepali Communist Party with 9. The Shram Sanskriti Party and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party rounded out the roster, claiming four seats each.
With the 165 directly elected members having already obtained their credentials immediately after the vote counting concluded, Thursday's ceremony officially closes the electoral certification process.
