Kathmandu - Top Madhesi leaders have appealed to the government to save the life of Vinay Yadav, who is sitting on a fast-unto-death at Maitighar in Kathmandu demanding various points against the brutal suppression of Golak activists in Dewanganj, Sunsari.
National Mukti Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, Janata Samajbadi Party Senior Vice-President Rajkishor Yadav, leaders Santosh Mehta, and Kishor Guru visited the hunger strike site at Maitighar to express harmony and support. They jointly expressed solidarity and drew the serious attention of the state towards saving Yadav's life and addressing his demands.
A joint appeal signed by the leaders at the hunger strike site states:
"Our serious attention has been drawn to the fast-unto-death undertaken by Vinay Yadav putting forward various demands against the brutal suppression of Golak activists in Dewanganj, Sunsari. For the sake of saving his life, we request the state government to be sensitive towards his demands and solve the problem through talks and dialogue."
Expressing concern over the deteriorating health condition of the hunger-striker Yadav, the leaders stressed that the government must immediately form a dialogue team to find a way out of the problem. They stated that finding an outlet through dialogue without ignoring the legitimate demands of citizens is the responsibility of a democratic state.
