Imprisoned activist Dr. Mahrang Baloch has launched a scathing critique against Pakistan’s judicial system, declaring that courts in Balochistan have entirely forfeited public confidence due to state coercion and systemic bias.
In a statement issued from prison and released by The Balochistan Post on September 12, the head of the Baloch Unity Committee (BYC) revealed that trial judges Mohammad Ali Mubeen and Qadir Shah Bukhari reportedly admitted facing extreme pressure to hand down convictions against committee members.
Baloch highlighted severe procedural irregularities, pointing out an incident on September 7 where witness examinations in Gulzadi Baloch’s trial proceeded despite an ongoing lawyers' strike and the absence of defense counsel. She further alleged that state-appointed prosecutors were granted special privileges and flown to Islamabad without defendant consent.

According to the incarcerated leader, Chief Justice Kamran Malakhail has consistently removed the group’s bail petitions from court rosters over the last six months rather than granting fair hearings. In response to these "faceless trials," the committee has boycotted proceedings in 20 cases since June 13 and filed petitions with the Balochistan High Court.
Facing a life sentence with an appeal hearing scheduled for October, Baloch asserted that the judiciary in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan remains captive to political motives. She urged the Supreme Court of Pakistan alongside global human rights organizations to immediately step in and restore constitutional fairness.
