The educational landscape in Prasauni Rural Municipality is set for a major upgrade following the formal initiation of a new High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP). On April 13, 2026, the foundation stone for a comprehensive school and library facility at Shree Benga Sah Secondary School was laid, marking a significant milestone for local students in the Madhesh Province.
This infrastructure development is backed by a financial grant of NRs. 33.2 million from the Government of India. Shri Devi Sahai Meena, the Consul General of India in Birgunj, joined Mr. Binod Prasad Jaisawal, Chairman of Prasauni Rural Municipality, to launch the construction phase of the project.
According to the Consulate General of India, the upcoming facility will feature two three-storey academic buildings. Beyond standard classrooms, the design includes essential modern resources such as a computer lab, science laboratories, a library, and fully furnished study areas. To support student welfare, the premises will also house a dedicated canteen and kitchen.
Local leadership and school management stakeholders noted that this enhancement will move students into a safer and more stimulating learning environment. The project, which is being executed through the Prasauni Rural Municipality, is designed to provide immediate benefits to the community's academic standards.
This initiative underscores the ongoing development alliance between India and Nepal. By focusing on high-impact local projects, the partnership continues to prioritize the strengthening of Nepal's educational foundations and long-term human resource growth.
