A formal agreement has been reached between the Ministry of Home Affairs and the families of Om Prakash Mehta and Jai Prakash Mehta, who lost their lives in a tragic incident in Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3, Kaprtanganj. The agreement, signed on Shrawan 14, 2083, addresses key demands raised by the victims' families following the event that occurred on the night of Shrawan 10, 2083.
Under the terms of the agreement, the government will immediately initiate the formal process to declare both deceased individuals as martyrs. Furthermore, the Ministry of Home Affairs has committed to providing Rs. 10,000,000 (ten lakh rupees) in financial relief to each of the bereaved families from the state treasury.
To ensure justice, the government has pledged an impartial and effective investigation into the clashes at Kaprtanganj, assuring that strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty. The agreement also mandates an immediate legal inquiry into the legal status and operational matters concerning the local madrasa in Dewanganj Rural Municipality-3.
As part of long-term support for the affected households, the government will guarantee a suitable employment opportunity for one eligible member of each victim's family. Additionally, the recommendations and findings of the probe committee formed to examine the incident will be implemented as soon as possible in accordance with prevailing laws.
The local government will coordinate the construction of a memorial park in an appropriate location within the rural municipality to honor the memory of Om Prakash Mehta and Jai Prakash Mehta. Following the signing of the agreement by the victims' parents and Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, the final rites for the deceased are scheduled to take place today, Shrawan 15, 2083, at 2:00 PM.
