Finance Minister and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Vice-Chairman Dr. Swornim Wagle has formally endorsed Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal for the position of Speaker of the House. Addressing the parliament, Dr. Wagle characterized Aryal as a "co-warrior and friend" whose presence would bring a unique blend of political maturity and seasoned management to the legislative body.
According to Dr. Wagle, Aryal's background is rooted in middle-class struggles, which has provided him with an advanced level of consciousness and a refined coordination style. The Finance Minister highlighted that the candidate possesses rare experience in both executive and legislative roles, making him exceptionally qualified to uphold the dignity of the House.
A central theme of the endorsement was the necessity of neutrality in the Speaker's office. Dr. Wagle expressed absolute confidence that Aryal would fulfill his constitutional duties without party bias. He urged the candidate to look toward the historical benchmarks set by former speakers, specifically noting Daman Nath Dhungana’s role in making the parliament vibrant and Subas Nembang’s legal expertise and consensus-building skills.
Representing the spirit of the 'Gen-Z' movement, Dr. Wagle noted that the RSP aims to modernize political expectations. He believes Aryal will successfully translate the aspirations of the younger generation into a distinct and original legislative style.
This endorsement signals a shift toward prioritizing managerial competence within the parliament’s leadership. As the house moves toward a vote, the focus remains on whether Aryal can maintain the delicate balance of impartiality demanded by the chair.
